Alexis Meeùs is a Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Degroof Petercam Corporate Finance, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank Degroof Petercam. He is also a Member of the Management Committee of Bank Degroof Petercam.
His background includes 5 years as a lawyer in Belgium and in the USA and over 20 years in investment banking, first at Group Brussels Lambert and then at Bank Degroof. As a financial analyst at Group Brussels Lambert, a holding company with investments in the energy, media and financial sector, and later as investment manager, he participated in the review of investment opportunities and divestments both for the parent company and for its listed venture capital subsidiary. Since 1991, Mr Meeùs is active in the Investment Banking department of Bank Degroof Petercam. In this capacity, he has been in charge of complex advisory assignments such as the strategic consolidation of Belgacom, the Walloon Region’s sale of its controlling participation in Cockerill Sambre to Usinor, the sale of Gimvindus, a holding company owned by the Flemish Region, the strategic partnership between the Belgian Post, Danish Post and CVC, and the sale of 70% of the shares of The Brussels Airport Company to Macquarie, the privatisation of Indaver, etc.
He holds a master degree in law from University of Antwerp and a Master of Arts degree in Business Administration from Solvay Business School (ULB). He teaches corporate finance at Ichec Entreprises in Brussels.
